How It All Began (14/04/2023)

When my boys were small, I decided to take up running. As someone who had never run before, transitioning into a regular runner came with its challenges. I endured multiple injuries, including a tibial stress fracture, Achilles tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and ankle sprains. Thankfully, I found an incredible therapist who guided me through the recovery process. Without her, I wouldn’t have completed my race, let alone the 2013 London Marathon, where I raised over £3,000 for the local MS Therapy Centre. She was *that* good!

Inspired by my experience, I decided to train as a Massage Therapist. I was captivated by the healing power of hands and how it had transformed my own recovery. However, the training proved to be much tougher than I anticipated. There was extensive study in Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology—well before I ever got to put my hands to work, which didn’t happen until a year later. Balancing the coursework with two toddlers at home was a challenge, but with the support of my wonderful tutors, I successfully qualified in 2012 after 439 hours of monitored learning (and plenty of home study!).

Soon after, I set up my practice from home in Hertfordshire. Over time, I built a strong client base and achieved a healthy work-life balance, while continuing my professional development with additional skills and certifications.

In 2015, we relocated to Edinburgh, and it wasn’t long before I was back to work. I set up at the Life Academy in Morningside, and business was going well—until the pandemic hit. Unfortunately, like many others, my practice suffered and became unsustainable.

I was fortunate to secure a fantastic job in education, which I truly enjoy, but my hands have always been a bit restless. So when the chance recently arose to work part-time from a therapy room within The Galleon Club, I couldn't resist.

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people, achieving great results, and building trust with my clients. I'm always eager to continue growing professionally—next on my list is Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation!

Please consider experiencing the benefits of massage for yourself. Whether you're seeking mental relaxation, physical relief, or help recovering from an injury, the right therapist can make all the difference. I’ve worked with clients who use massage as part of their regular self-care routine and know exactly what they need, as well as those who are new to massage and have various concerns.

I understand that visiting a new therapist can feel daunting. Some people feel shy, body-conscious, or uncomfortable with certain aspects of the process. But don’t worry—we’ll thoroughly discuss your concerns, and I’ll do everything I can to make you feel comfortable. The treatment will be tailored to your specific needs, allowing you to relax and enjoy the full benefits of the session.
